Our Mission

Project:Acclimate is an international youth-led nonprofit that is working to elevate climate adaptation (not just climate mitigation) in conversations surrounding climate change.

We recognize that climate change is inextricably tied to the health of human societies, and work to bring this connection to the forefront.

We aim to educate and empower disproportionately affected global communities with information on how they can adapt and thrive amidst the challenges of a changing climate. We prioritize an asset-based approach and collaborative resilience in all our work.

We are powered by more than 50 volunteers that compile, parse, and translate climate adaptation resources, which are then distributed to global communities through NGOs & nonprofits. We estimate that we have reached 500,000+ individuals to date with 1,200+ climate adaptation resources.

Our Story

Project:Acclimate was founded by Jae Kim. While working with local communities in the U.S. and Asia on climate justice programming, Jae realized that climate adaptation was often overshadowed by its flashier counterpart, climate mitigation.

With the understanding that climate adaptation is crucial to protect the health and well-being of communities most vulnerable to climate change, Project:Acclimate started as a handful of English & Spanish infographics distributed at small community events in Houston, Texas.

Project:Acclimate has grown exponentially since then, now serving countless communities across 11 countries/nations through the most extensive library of climate adaptation resources ever created. Our youth volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that while scientists, policymakers, and advocates fight for a better tomorrow, the serious threats the climate crisis poses TODAY to global communities are not left as an afterthought.

We are the youth of the Earth, and we are our own deliverance.
